2015 Pinot Noir Russian River Valley
Tiny House Vineyard | 2015 | Russian River | Pinot Noir | Since our friend Kieran departed on his own venture of Tiny House Vineyard, results have been great. The very first vintage impressed us, and needless to say, the next vintage continues to show the evolution of this project and we couldn't be happier for him and his team. Notes of Cherry cola, raspberry jam, freshly toasted spice box, earthy undertones, blue floral, vanilla, and peppercorn. Juicy mouthfeel, with dense layers of fresh berries, accented by earthy spice. Tannins are present but well integrated, and has a medium finish with good acid. Classic California Pinot, this needs time in the glass to open up so be sure to give it so. Enjoy over the next 5-8 years. | 92 points |
2016 Rosé of Pinotage Sonoma Coast
Tiny House Vineyard | 2016 | Rosé of Pinotage | It seems like spring has finally decided to show itself in San Francisco and there's something about the spring season that really calls for Rosé. Pinotage is a cross between a Burgundy and Rhone varieties of Vitis Vinfera and are most commonly found in South Africa. Incredibly unique wine and we're lucky that Tiny House Vineyard made a Rosé out of it that's perfect for the spring. Notes of watermelon, peach blossom, white peach, pink guava, crushed rock, crushed rocks and grapefruit peel. Good weight and some salinity on the mouthfeel, and a mineral driven finish turns into a rather long finish with mouthwatering acidity. Really a fantastic and unique Rosé which could develop into more concentrated flavors in the future, but it's springtime so drink up! | 93 points |
